How do I remove a header or footer from the cover page of an MS Word document?

Go to Insert in the MS Word menu and select Header or Footer as appropriate. Click Edit Header or Edit Footer.

Select Different First Page. This should remove the header or footer from your first page.

Go to Insert in MS Word menu bar and select Header or Footer as appropriate. Select Edit Header or Edit Footer.

In Edit Header or Footer options, select Different First Page. This should remove headers or footers from your first page. Then click Close Header and Footer.
